Events to watch for in winter and spring 2027

Winter Sowing

Winter sowing is an easy, low-cost method of starting seeds outdoors in gallon jugs or other small, mini-greenhouse containers We did this in Feb 2025 under the guidance of Master Naturalist, Alex Singer. Each participant took home rudbeckia, evening primrose, brodleaf asters, and many many other pollinator-friendly native perennials. It’s a wonderful way to transform a section of your yard into a hative garden.

Annual Seed Swap

Last February “Lady Thistledown” graced us with her presence and convened a seed swap extraordinaire. Look for more February, 2027.

Bring some seeds and leave with new ones! Don’t have seeds to swap? You’re still welcome to participate.
